In a statement to the Beta news agency, Krkobabic said that that Serbia’s aim is to speed up its EU integration and surmount all obstacles on its EU road.
The two sides discussed defining the status of refugees, their return to their native country, their arrival in some other country or the acquisition of citizenship.
Krkobabic said that these are state issues and must therefore be solved at state level, adding that the Serbian delegation’s stances and arguments have been acknowledged.
At the initiative of UN High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres the Serbian government delegation will take part in a forum in Geneva devoted to long-term refugees.
On December 9, prior to the meeting, an informal meeting was held between the High Commissioner and the Serbian and Croatian delegations, at which they discussed how to overcome the standstill in solving the issue of refugees from Croatia.
