Serbia requires only one thing – that its sovereignty and territorial integrity are respected, Dacic said at the Summit of prime ministers of the Central European Initiative (CEI) in Kishinev.
He also said that it is necessary to respect international law, adding that any precedent is very dangerous as it can have even larger consequences for the international community, which is clearly visible regarding the situation in Georgia.
South Eastern Europe is facing very serious challenges. These challenges can lead to another destabilisation of the region, with permanent consequences, stressed Dacic.
Dacic said that in this period of political instability, all CEI members must have more understanding, confidence and solidarity regarding individual states as well as the entire region.
He said that the relevant state bodies are still determined to locate and arrest the remaining Hague indictees.
The Minister voiced hope that the EU will unfreeze the Transitional Trade Agreement and enable Serbia’s speedier EU integration and its acquisition of EU member status early next year.
The fact that a majority of Serbian citizens supported the Stabilisation and Association Agreement with the EU (SAA) in such a delicate situation proves that Serbian citizens are interested in joining the EU, stressed Dacic.
He added that the early parliament elections, held on May 11, showed the importance of the signing of the SAA for Serbia, as all citizens decided to vote for a European future, which is another incentive for the Serbian government to speed up the EU integration process.
