Serbian Deputy Prime Minister for EU integration and Minister of Science and Technological Development Bozidar Djelic opened a conference titled “A Step Forward in Science” this evening at the Petnica science centre, attended by participants of the summer seminars being held at the centre.
Speaking at the occasion Djelic pledged that the government will continue to provide financial support to the Petnica science centre. He stressed that the internationally acknowledged accomplishments of those educated at Petnica are a credit to the centre.
He expressed his wish that the present generation of young researchers at Petnica would stay to live and work in Serbia.
The seventh conference at Petnica has gathered 95 participants who will present 65 original scientific projects in the form of research work, covering a wide range of scientific areas.
The Ministry of Science and Technological Development has supported the Petnica science centre since 1982. It is a unique institution where more than 50,000 students and teachers from Serbia and abroad have trained and worked.
