First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic stated today in Moscow that the energy agreement with Russia will be realised in its entirety, that Gazprom will carry out all three projects and the contract will be signed in the next several days.
Following a meeting with Russian Vice President Igor Sechin, Dacic told the Tanjug news agency that Gazprom representatives stressed that in the second half of 2009 a joint company will be set up to carry out the construction of the gas pipe line through Serbia.
He recalled that at the plenary session of the Serbian-Russian mixed committee scheduled for today a protocol will be signed to confirm that the energy deal will be signed. This not only implies the sale of the Serbian oil industry NIS, but also the construction of the gas pipeline through Serbia and modernisation and expansion of the gas storage facility in Banatksi Dvor.
Dacic said that he and Sechin also discussed economic cooperation between Serbia and Russia and agreed that their satisfactory political relationshipp should be accompanied by constant progress in their economic cooperation.
In this sense, the list of products in the customs tax-free regime will be expanded, the reconstruction of the Djerdap hydroelectric power plant will be carried out by Russia on the basis of the clearing debt and visas to Russia for Serbian citizens will be abolished, said Dacic.
