First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic visited today security point Merdare in the ground safety zone and spoke with police officers who secure the administrative line with Kosovo-Metohija.
Head of the Merdare point Dragan Grujic presented the Minister with the unit’s work, after which Dacic went to visit the gendarmerie in Borovac.

He noted that there is a possible threat to security in this zone and on the administrative line.
The state will react harshly against any attempt by Albanian separatists to jeopardise stability in the ground safety zone, adding that this comes soon after Serbia won a diplomatic victory in the UN Security Council and after announcements that UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon will adopt Serbia’s requests about EULEX.
The announcement by Albanian separatist terrorist groups that they will enter our territory will be severely tackled by the Serbian gendarmerie and police, he said.
Members of the gendarmerie informed Dacic that no illegal transit on the administrative border was registered, only KFOR patrols.
Police Director Milorad Veljovic accompanied Dacic in Merdare.
Later today, they will visit a road section in the Kursumlija municipality.
