In a statement to the Tanjug news agency, at the end of
his visit to Vienna, Djelic noted that they talked about Serbia’s European perspective and that Plasnik affirmed that Austria, one of Serbia’s greatest allies in the EU, is in favour of visa liberalisation and Serbia’s acquisition of candidate status.
As the first step in that sense, Plasnik said that at the upcoming EU meetings Austria will advocate unfreezing the transitional agreement ratified in Serbian parliament, said Djelic, thanking Plasnik for the efforts she has made for Serbia.
A new government is being formed in Austria, but Plasnik convinced me that their policy towards us will remain stable because Austria sees Serbia as a future EU member, said the Deputy Prime Minister.
