First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic spoke today with US Assistant Secretary of Defence Stewart Jones about the fight against organised crime in the region, as well as regional security challenges.
Dacic presented Jones with the active role of the Serbian police in promoting regional police cooperation and pointed out that, at Serbia’s initiative, an international police cooperation agreement was signed with Romania, Bulgaria and Greece.
Jones commended the successful cooperation of Serbian and US police and stated that the United States will support Serbian police efforts to promote regional police cooperation in the fight against organised crime.
This is Jones’ first visit to the region since he was appointed to this position in July this year.
