Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic said today in Berlin that German government representatives reassured him that Germany will support Serbia in the country’s efforts to get visa restrictions removed for Serbian citizens.
Dacic,
who is on a three day visit to Germany, said in a statement to the news agency Beta that he talked today in Berlin with Parliamentary State Secretary at the German Ministry of the Interior Peter Altmeier, State Secretary of Foreign Affairs Gernot Erler, representatives of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation and German MPs.
He said that it was stated at these meetings that Germany is willing to facilitate Serbia’s inclusion in the Schengen “white list”. Dacic informed German functionaries about the Serbian government’s policy related to plans for Serbia’s further EU integration.
According to Dacic, it was agreed that the interior ministries of the two countries will sign a memorandum of understanding that should be followed by an agreement on political cooperation.
