Dacic and Manter signed today an agreement on the donation of a boat to the special anti-terrorist unit (SAJ) of the Serbian Interior Ministry.
This donation will help strengthen the technical capacities of the SAJ, Dacic said.
He recalled that Serbia has had good cooperation with the US embassy, as well as the US Department of Justice.
I would like the SAJ to have less activity regarding the preservation of security and that politicians of both states work more on improving the cooperation between Serbia and the US, said Dacic.
As for the new US President, Barack Obama, he said that it is a good choice for both Serbia and the US, as well as for overall world cooperation.
Elections are the private issue of each country and American citizens chose their President, said Dacic, congratulating Obama.
According to him, Serbia wants to improve relations with the USA, the EU and Russia.
Manter said that fighting global terrorism is one of the top American priorities and it is important that other countries provide help in this respect.
He pointed out the Ministry of Interior had made efforts to modernise itself, recalling that FBI experts have been at the SAJ base in Batajnica to exchange their experiences with Serbian experts.
The US Ambassador appreciated the Ministry's constant assistance regarding the protection of the embassy building and personnel.
Manter also appreciated the fact that Police Director Milorad Veljovic had shown an eagerness to fight organised crime and terrorism.
