New director of EU Integration Office appointed

At today’s session the government appointed Milica Delevic as director of the EU Integration Office, while previous director Tanja Miscevic has been released from her duties.

Miscevic, released from duty at her own wish, will devote herself to academic work at the Faculty of Political Sciences, says a statement from Djelic’s cabinet.
Tanja Miscevic contributed greatly to Serbia’s EU integration process. She participated in negotiations on the Stabilisation and Association Agreement with the EU from the very beginning up to its signing and ratification in Serbian parliament. She also coordinated the drafting of the national programme for Serbia’s EU integration.
On behalf of the Serbian government, Djelic thanked Tanja Miscevic and said he hopes they will cooperate with her again in the future.
Milica Delevic was Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and director of the EU Directorate.
From 2003 until 2004 she was director of the Serbia-Montenegrin Office of EU Integration.
She graduated from the Belgrade Faculty of Economics, took her MA at the Central European University at the Department for International Affairs and European Studies and took her PhD at Kent University. Her PhD thesis was titled “The Goal, Not the Means – Financial Assistance Conditioned by Democratisation and the Respect of Human Rights.”
In 2007 she won the Contribution to Europe award.
