Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Ivica Dacic said this evening that negotiations between Serbia and Montenegro on dual citizenship, on the level of working groups, are to continue next week, and are in the interest of both countries.
In a statement to B92 Television, Dacic said that Montenegro’s decision to recognise Kosovo will leave a lasting mark on relations between Serbia and Montenegro, adding that by making this decision Montenegro has gone against its history, tradition and culture.
Commenting on Macedonia’s decision to recognise Kosovo, he recalled that Serbia recognised Macedonia validating the country’s choice of name even though the name dispute has still not been settled.
The Minister said that he expects that following the vote at the UN General Assembly approving Serbia’s resolution seeking an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice on the legality of Kosovo’s independence, the Kosovo issue will become a legal one.
