Addressing the press at the Police Academy in Zemun, where he attended the enrolment of the 3rd generation of freshmen, Dacic said that issuing old passports will soon be aborted because since new passports were introduced in July, citizens have been applying for the old travelling document more than for the new one as they wanted to avoid lengthy procedure.
Serbia is on a good path to visa liberalisation, he stressed and added that since services issuing passports began working double shifts, there are no longer long lines at counters.
Dacic said that Serbia cannot be strong if it does not have strong police and military forces in which citizens have great confidence.
He pointed out that the criminal police is the main part of police and explained that the hardest crimes have to be solved by logic and a lot of knowledge which students will acquire during their studies.
I want Serbia to create conditions for efficient fight against crime, said the Minister and added that the Ministry in charge impatiently is waiting for new generations which will graduate from the Police Academy.
Dacic told the students that the state and its people always stay and they need strong police.
Minister of Education Zarko Obradovic said that the Police Academy is of special importance for Serbian educational system because students are being trained to make citizens as safe as possible.
Dacic and Obradovic granted diplomas to crime and security science magisters and awards to the best students of basic studies.
