Djelic said that Serbia has done everything in its power to conclude cooperation with the Hague tribunal, which today has made another scandalous decision in the Rasim Delic case, after a series of other previous scandalous decisions related to Serbian victims.
At the same time, we can see that support for Serbia in the EU is growing. Today, 25 member states and the European Commission were defending Serbia, he stated and added that Serbia will continue to fulfil all conditions necessary for Serbia’s European integration.
This injustice will not make us hesitate in reaching our strategic goal, i.e. EU membership, he stressed and announced that tomorrow he will discuss further strategy and concrete steps by Belgrade with EU Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn.
According to Djelic, this will enable, once the political decisions are made, for quick integration – from implementation of a whole package of agreements to candidacy status.
Djelic also said that he will meet with European Commission Vice President Jacques Barrot to hand over a report prepared by a task force working on Serbia’s inclusion in the White Schengen List.
