Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Jovan Krkobabic met today with Slovak Ambassador to Belgrade Igor Furdik and thanked Slovakia on its principled stance regarding Serbia’s territorial integrity and the inalienability of Kosovo-Metohija.

Krkobabic said he is pleased that on behalf of the Serbian government, he has the opportunity to welcome a representative from a country that is a true friend of Serbia’s and acquainted Furdik with the Serbian government’s activities and plans, particularly those concerning the pension system reform and solutions to social issues.
Furdik congratulated him on the formation of the new Serbian government and on behalf of his country voiced readiness to share Slovakia’s experiences in reforms of the health care and pension systems. He added that Slovakia will keep supporting the principles of international law.
The collocutors started an initiative to sign agreement on the protection of military cemeteries.
They also discussed further cooperation between Serbia and Slovakia in all areas of bilateral cooperation and concluded that a more decisive step forward should be made in economic relations between them.
Krkobabic and Furdik agreed on the necessity of reforms in chambers of commerce and foundation of employers’ associations which will represent their countries abroad and intensify cooperation between Serbia and Slovakia.
Ambassador Furdik announced a visit by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico to Serbia before the year’s end and invited Krkobabic to visit Slovakia.
