Djelic told a press conference that Nis will not only be a transitional centre of the gas network, but also a distribution centre for gas coming from Russia, and added that by the end of this government’s mandate, sections of the motorway towards Bulgaria and Macedonia will be constructed.
According to him, both Russia and Serbia have their interests in the project but they will strive to find a common interest as well.
He announced that the EU Integration Office, the Tobacco Administration and the Pension and Disability Fund will open their offices in Nis, that the deadline for loans from the European Investment Bank, amounting to €10 million will be postponed, and that the Investment Forum will be held in Nis on October 2.
Nis should become the centre for electronics and new technologies, said Djelic and stressed that the government will endorse development projects coming from this city.
It is time that Nis and southern Serbia sought decentralisation in all developing spheres and finances, but we must be more united. Basically, we have to ensure additional funds from domestic and foreign sources for this region, said Djelic.
Today in Nis Djelic met representatives of the Electronics Industry Nis and local businessmen at the Regional Chamber of Commerce, and also visited the University of Nis.
