In a statement with the Tanjug news agency during his visit to the Exit music festival in Novi Sad, he said it would be good that SAA is supported not just by the ruling majority, but also MPs of the Liberal Democratic Party and added that he would like MPs of the Democratic Party of Serbia and the Serbian Radical Party to back it as well.
He reiterated that Serbia will never accept independence of Kosovo-Metohija nor establish good-neigbourly relations with itself, nor will it accept the blackmail for the sake of its European integration.
According to him, this is confirmed in the Draft resolution on confirming the continuity of state policy to Kosovo-Metohija, which will be discussed on Wednesday, when SAA should also be approved in parliament.
Djelic pointed out that the proposed resolution interprets the SAA in the way that it confirms that Serbia signed the document with the EU as a whole, with Kosovo-Metohija as its part.
I expect the resolution on Kosovo to get wide support, the Deputy Prime Minister said and expressed hope all boundaries for the large majority in parliament to ratify the SAA.
He announced that he will personally as the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of European integration and one of the signatories of SAA will present the reasons for its ratification.
Djelic participated tonight at a panel discussion “Why That Europe?” as part of the Exit festival.
Also participating were Minister of Environmental Protection and Spatial Planning Oliver Dulic, Director of the European Integration Office Tanja Miscevic, historian Predrag Markovic, actor Zoran Cvijanovic and Uros Djuric.
After the panel, NGO Group 484 organised a panel on visa relaxations in practice in which Djelic and Miscevic spoke together with head of the Office for International Cooperation and European Integration of the Serbian Ministry of Interior Drazen Maravic and Group 484 Director Miodrag Stresth.
