While presenting the document to businesspeople and representatives of regional and local authorities, Djelic said he expects that Serbia will acquire EU candidate status by end-year, be placed on the white Schengen list and qualify for EU structural funds.
He said that Serbia must start thinking about 2014 when the EU will begin with a new budget cycle.
According to him, if Serbia becomes an EU member by then, it can count on €1.5 billion per year from the European budget, which will enable it to become one of the most competitive countries in Europe.
