Labus opens symposium “Paleoclimate and the Earth’s Climate System”

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Miroljub Labus opened today an international symposium themed “Paleoclimate and the Earth’s Climate System,” dedicated to the state-of-the-art of climate science as it relates to the scientific and professional work of Milutin Milankovic, one the most distinguished climatologists of the 20th century and the maker of the mathematical theory of climate change.

Labus told the prominent scientists from Europe, the US, Russia, Canada, Japan, and China, gathered at the conference, that the resutls of Milankovic’s research still serve as a basis for contemporary, and future, research in climatology.
Labus said that the work of the great Serbian scientist not only produced a significant scientific achievement but also linked the cultures of the countries of the Danube region, explaining the mystery of the ice age and enabling the forecasting of the Earth’s climate conditions.
