Speaking at a formal academy at the Sava Centre, held on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Telekom, Kostunica recalled that in the past three years this public company has invested over €800 million in infrastructure and development and that it managed to make up for the time lost in the previous period.
He said that since 2000 until today the level of digitalisation of fixed telephony has been increased from 40% to more than 90%, and the number of users of the mobile telephony has risen from the previous total of 400,000 to approximately 4.7 million. Kostunica underlined that according to this criterion, Serbia is ahead of many countries of the European Union.
The Serbian Prime Minister stressed that Telekom invests in telecommunication infrastructure in Kosovo-Metohija as well, as an integral and inalienable part of Serbia.
The formal academy was attended by Serbian ministers of interior and finance Dragan Jocic and Mirko Cvetkovic respectively, members of the diplomatic corps, the Serbian Orthodox Church, and the Serbian Army.
