Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica met with members of Coalition Povratak (Return) today to discuss the position of Kosovo-Metohija Serbs and the activities of the coalition.
The meeting focused on a Serbian government’s plan for political solution to the situation in Kosovo-Metohija, which the coalition fully approved, as well as on the government’s efforts to win international approval for the plan.
It also touched on Serb participation in Kosovo-Metohija interim institutions and working groups set up by the interim institutions and UNMIK.
The international community’s approval of the government’s Kosovo-Metohija plan will lay foundations for talks on Serb participation in the forthcoming parliamentary elections in the province.
The international community has yet to take a stance on the government’s request for securing territorial autonomy for the Serb community in Kosovo-Metohija.
