Serbia was defeated by Spain after a penalty shootout, 17-18, for the men's water polo bronze at the FINA World Championships.

The two teams finished regular time with the scores tied at 8-8, and scored a goal each in extra time to force the shootout.
Udovicic, Vujasinovic and Filipovic had two each for Serbia. Ciric, Nikic and Prlainovic added one goal each for the 2006 European champions.
Croatia beat Hungary 9-8 in extra time for the gold medal.
