Serbian national team wrestler in Greco-Roman style Aleksandr Komarov won the world champion title last night in the 87 kg category, after defeating Iran’s Alireza Mohmadipiani 4:3 in the final of the World Championships in Zagreb.
On his way to the gold medal, Komarov recorded five victories, defeating Japan’s So Sakabe, then American Payton Jacobson, followed by eliminating Islam Yevloyev of Kazakhstan in the quarterfinals, and overcoming Russia’s Milad Alizraev in the semifinals.
