Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica met with Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister Nikolay Vasilev in Belgrade today, pointing to the importance of cooperation between Serbia-Montenegro and Bulgaria, particularly in free trade and transport.

According to Kostunica, the government’s priorities include institution building, the rule of law and the fight against corruption.
Vasilev underlined the importance of the two countries’ strong bilateral relations, efforts to integrate into European institutions, and the signing of a protocol on cooperation for setting up a joint commission for economic cooperation.
Bulgarian Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg is scheduled to visit Belgrade on June 9 and 10, said Vasilev, adding that the announced visit reflects the good relations between the two countries and their joint efforts to join the European Union.
The talks also focused on the construction of a Nis-Sofia motorway and ways to improve transport cooperation.
The Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister thanked Serbia-Montenegro for its assistance to rescue Bulgarian schoolchildren from a bus which plunged into a river after an accident on the Bijelo Polje-Prijepolje road, and invited ten children from the Krnjaca refugee camp for a summer holiday in Bulgaria.
