Improved texts of set of judicial laws sent to Venice Commission

Belgrade, 18 May 2026

The Ministry of Justice announced that it has today sent improved versions of the working texts of amendments to the set of judicial laws to the National Assembly of Serbia for submission to the rapporteurs of the Venice Commission.

This was done in accordance with the conclusions of the online meeting that Minister of Justice Nenad Vujić held with the rapporteurs of the Venice Commission on 15 May.

In addition, the rapporteurs of the Venice Commission were also sent, through the National Assembly, explanations of individual solutions, for which they, during the aforementioned online meeting, took a generally positive position.

These acts were also sent to Director General of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations Geert Jan Koopman, Commissioner for Justice and Consumers Michael McGrath as well as Ambassador and Head of the European Union Delegation to Serbia Andreas von Beckerath.

The above versions of the working texts of the judicial laws have also been published on the website of the Ministry of Justice.

These are amendments to the Law on the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Law on the Organisation and Competence of State Bodies for the Fight against High-Tech Crime, the Law on the Seats and Territories of Courts and Public Prosecutor’s Offices, the Law on Judges and the Law on the High Prosecutor’s Council.
