Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, visited the first baby born in 2026 at the Višegradska Obstetrics and Gynaecology Clinic last night.
“Tonight I had the great honour and pleasure of visiting the first woman giving birth in Serbia this year, Marina Milošević and her son Vukašin. It is a great pleasure to be able to visit mothers who gave birth to babies who represent the future and hope of our country”, Macut pointed out.
He expressed the hope that even more children will be born in the future and assessed that our young fellow citizens who are coming into the world will also bring a new future to Serbia, recalling that the state is working on a programme to increase the birth rate.
That's a good message for Serbia, and I think we are taking a big step by working on that programme, which is a whole concept that goes towards raising the birth rate policy in the country, said Macut.
Last night, the Prime Minister, together with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dačić, visited the Command and Operations Centre of the Belgrade City Police Administration and wished everyone a more peaceful year of 2026.
He thanked all members of the Ministry of the Interior for their dedicated work, great commitment and sacrifice that he had the opportunity to see in the past year, during which members of the police played an exceptional role in maintaining public order, peace and security of all citizens of Serbia.
Macut extended New Year’s greetings to all members of the Ministry of the Interior and their families, with the wish that the year 2026 be more peaceful and stable.
