Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dačić and Hungarian Minister of the Interior Sándor Pintér signed today, at the Horgoš-Röszke border crossing, an agreement between the two governments on border control in road, rail and water transport.

Dačić assessed that the signing of the agreement will create conditions for a faster flow of people and goods between the two countries, noting that it was necessary to incorporate all changes that have occurred since the previous agreement was signed.
He also expressed satisfaction with the cooperation between the police forces of Serbia and Hungary in combating organised crime and in border control, particularly in addressing irregular migration.
Pintér explained that the agreement enables the leadership of the two countries’ police forces to determine the opening times for border crossings and jointly resolve all other issues.
He also confirmed that Hungarian border authorities will start implementing the Entry/Exit System (EES) rules from 28 October.
