Serbia inherits state and legal continuity of Serbia-Montenegro

Director of the Serbian government's Office of Media Relations Srdjan Djuric said that following today's decision of President of the Montenegrin Referendum Commission Frantisek Lipka, the Serbian government concluded that the Republic of Serbia will take over the state and legal continuity of Serbia-Montenegro and become the inheritor of the state union.
Lipka stated today that the referendum on Montenegro's independence, held on May 21, fulfilled the condition set by the European Union and that is that 55.5% of voters who cast their ballots voted in favour of the republic's independence.
