Kostunica opens business-trading Master Centre and 73rd international agricultural fair in Novi Sad
Kostunica recalled that 23 billion dinars has been set aside this year for creating better conditions for agricultural development, which is three times more than in 2003.
Last year, agriculture generated foreign trade surplus in the amount of $220 million, Kostunica said and added that more than $160 million has been invested in agriculture over the past two years.
The Prime Minister also congratulated the Novi Sad Fair for investing in the Master Centre and expressed assurances that it will contribute in the best possible way to promoting the idea of importance of agriculture for the country’s overall development.
The opening ceremony was also attended by Serbian Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Zoran Loncar, Minister of Economy Predrag Bubalo, Minister of Trade, Tourism and Services Bojan Dimitrijevic as well as representatives of provincial and city authorities, international fair associations, members of the diplomatic corps and numerous businesspeople, cultural and public workers.
This year’s agriculture fair will show more than 2,000 exhibitors presenting products from Serbia-Montenegro and another 60 countries, while guests from Austria, the Netherlands, Croatia, Italy, Hungary, Slovenia and Poland will feature special collective exhibitions.
The new Masters Centre will offer best conditions to exhibitors as well as to businesspeople who come to the fair.
