Kostunica meets with athlete Carl Lewis

Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica met today with famous US athlete Carl Lewis, who is this year’s promoter of the 19th Belgrade Intesa marathon.
Kostunica said he is greatly honoured to meet with the most successful athlete of the 20th century and pointed out that the arrival of Carl Lewis to Serbia is a big event for all sport fans.
The Serbian Prime Minister recalled that in 1994, Carl Lewis sent a video message to participants of the Belgrade marathon, and thanked him for being this year’s promoter of the marathon which has become one of Belgrade’s landmarks and which will take place on its streets on April 22.
Lewis was thankful for the warm and friendly welcome and said he is very pleased to be in a country so famous in the world for sporting achievements.
Lewis presented the Prime Minister the work of his sports foundation and said that he is greatly honoured to be able to help young athletes and to convey them his experience and knowledge.
The US athlete presented Kostunica with his running kit and told him that he will come to Serbia again.
