Dialogue of Belgrade, Pristina indispensable for solving Kosovo issue

Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica met today with Foreign Policy Committee Chairman in the German Bundestag Ruprecht Polenz and told him that the solution to the Kosovo issue must result from dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.
He stressed that only a compromise solution to this issue can add to regional stability. Kostunica also pointed out the necessity of founding the solution based on international law whose basic principle is sovereignty and territorial integrity of states in the region.
Polenz advocated the respect for human rights and standards in Kosovo-Metohija and gave an example of several German provinces and municipalities to illustrate how an agreement on decentralisation can be reached.
Kostunica and Polenz also discussed the EU integration process of Serbia-Montenegro. Kostunica said it is very important that the talks on the Stabilisation and Association Agreement are continued and reiterated that Serbia is undoubtedly committed to EU integration.
