Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica has agreed today in a meeting with a delegation of the Serbian language standardisation committee, led by committee head Ivan Klajn, that nourishing and standardising the Serbian language is of special importance.
The Serbian government is resolute to support the committee bearing in mind the importance of language and culture in society, Kostunica said.
Members of the committee said that this committee passed 50 decisions tackling language confusions and announced that on April 18, on the committee’s ninth anniversary, a book about the norms in the Serbian language will be published.
Also, the publication of the 17th volume of the Serbian Dictionary is expected this year, committee members said and listed a number of books on rules in the Serbian language and grammar published so far.
