Prime Minister Miloš Vučević spoke today with Minister of External Relations of the Republic of Angola Téte António about strengthening bilateral cooperation, with a special emphasis on the areas of economy and education.
Vučević emphasised that Serbia greatly values Angola’s support in matters of territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as the firm stance of that country not to recognise the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo.
The Prime Minister expressed special gratitude to Angola for not supporting the resolution on Srebrenica in the United Nations General Assembly, which, as he assessed, will not bring good to Serbia or Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Vučević expressed his gratitude to Angola for the support it provided to our country during the elections at the General Assembly of the International Bureau of Expositions (BIE) in Paris for hosting the renowned international exhibition “EXPO 2027”.
The Prime Minister pointed out that Serbia attaches great importance to the further improvement of overall cooperation with Angola, which is based on mutual trust and friendship between our two countries and peoples, which dates back to the time of the Non-Aligned Movement.
Vučević said that Serbia and Angola are bound by the spirit of freedom and traditionally good relations, which should continue to develop in the future as they have done so far, in mutual interest, especially in the field of education, within the framework of which the Agreement on mutual recognition of academic qualifications, titles and diplomas was signed today.
Next year, the two countries will mark half a century since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the Prime Minister reminded, and invited the President of Angola, João Lourenço, to visit our country.
Minister Téte António reiterated that Angola’s position when it comes to Serbia’s sovereignty is principled and will not change.
Téte António assessed that the Agreement in the field of education with Serbia will contribute to the improvement of knowledge in order to diversify the economy and infrastructure in Angola.
