Prime Minister Miloš Vučević spoke today with Ambassador of Hungary to Serbia Jozsef Magyar about the continuation of good cooperation and the improvement of bilateral relations between the two countries.
Vučević emphasised that the relations between the two countries reached the highest point of development in recent history thanks, above all, to mutual understanding, trust and commitment to strengthening the partnership.
The Prime Minister particularly emphasised economic cooperation with Hungary, pointing out that it is developing extremely dynamically and that in recent years it has achieved a record value of exchange.
He added that the completion of the Belgrade-Budapest high-speed railway line, as well as the construction of the Hungary-Serbia photovoltaic pipeline, which should ensure greater energy security, will be a major incentive for overall cooperation in the coming period.
The Prime Minister said that preserving regional stability is of strategic interest to Serbia, and added that the draft resolution of the United Nations General Assembly on Srebrenica is a sensitive issue that does not contribute to cooperation and building good relations in the region.
Vučević repeated that the position of the Serbs is threatened by the decision of the Pristina authorities to ban the use of dinars in Kosovo and Metohija, which greatly complicates the lives of our citizens, but also distances them from the dialogue between Belgrade and Priština.
He expressed his gratitude for the strong and continuous support that Hungary provides to Serbia on a daily basis in the process of European integration at the highest political level and for persisting in its stance on the necessity of expanding the European Union.
The Hungarian Ambassador agreed with the Serbian prime minister that the political and economic relations of the two countries are at their highest point and added that he is confident that they will be further improved in a number of other areas of common interest.
Magyar added that Serbia can count on the firm support of Hungary on the international level on issues of vital interest to our country.
