Kostunica said that there cannot be an imposed solution, but it must be reached through dialogue and compromise between Belgrade and Pristina. He said that it is especially important to keep in mind the stability of the region and reiterated that only a compromise for Kosovo-Metohija can contribute to safeguarding regional stability.
Macedonian President Branko Crvenkovski said that the official position of Macedonia is to support a solution for Kosovo-Metohija which is the result of mutual agreement between Belgrade and Pristina.
The two officials particularly pointed out the importance of the agreement signed between the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and Macedonia on the delineation of the state border line, which was ratified in 2001.
Kostunica particularly stressed that Kosovo-Metohija is an integral part of Serbia given the fact the delineation of the state border line between the state-union of Serbia-Montenegro with Macedonia can be executed solely on the basis of the 2001 agreement.
