In a statement to the press following separate meetings with Basescu and Tariceanu, Kostunica said that the Romanian President was consistent in his position that the solution to the province's issue lies in the respect of both Serbia's and the state-union's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Basescu added that while solving the issue there must be no externally imposed solutions and that the matter should be solved through a dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.
Kostunica stated that during his meetings with Romanian officials, they also discussed bilateral relations and further improvement of political relations between Serbia and Romania. He added that the Romanian President and a delegation of Romanian officials and businessmen will visit Belgrade this May.
Today and tomorrow, Kostunica will take part in the Summit of Prime Ministers of Southeast European countries, which will deal with the beginning of the negotiations on a single free trade agreement.

The free trade agreement will enable the entire region to grow into an area of economic and commercial development, Kostunica explained and added that will help the countries of this region fit into European standards, bearing in mind that some of the countries are closer to the EU and some on a safe road to the Union.
On April 6, the Serbian Prime Minister will address the Summit.
Apart from representatives of participating countries, EU Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn and Special Coordinator of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe Erhard Busek will also speak at the Summit.
The Summit in Bucharest will gather representatives of the host country, Serbia-Montenegro, of both member states separately, Bulgaria, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Macedonia, Moldavia and the UNMIK.
The Serbian government delegation also includes Minister of International Economic Relations Milan Parivodic.
