At today's meeting, the government of the Republic of Serbia adopted the Action Plan for the period from 2024 to 2026 for the implementation of the Employment Strategy in the Republic of Serbia for the period from 2021 to 2026.
The adoption of this document will enable encouraging the employment of persons with disabilities, further promotion of dual education, encouraging the development of the competitiveness of the economy, as well as supporting the development of entrepreneurship in Serbia.
Government members adopted the Conclusion on the approval for the payment of contributions for pension and disability insurance to special categories of employees and former employees, that is, former workers in privatization entities and disabled companies that were in the process of restructuring.
In 2023, seniority is not connected for 9,980 former employees in 59 entities.
At the session, the Conclusion on consent to undertake the necessary activities for the organisation of the event "Serbia is calling you" was adopted, given that one of the main goals of the government is systemic support for the diaspora, the preservation of national identity, language, culture and other national values that are realized through various activities and exchange of experiences of youth from the diaspora and the region and the home country.
The event "Serbia is calling you" will be organised from 1 to 11 August 2024 and will gather about 250 children aged 12 to 15 of Serbian nationality from the United States of America, Canada, Australia, Austria, Italy, Hungary, Germany, Belgium, Sweden, France, Cyprus, Ukraine, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Montenegro, Macedonia, Republika Srpska, as well as children from Kosovo and Metohija.
In order to provide a quick response to the humanitarian needs of displaced persons from Ukraine and their family members who cannot return to Ukraine due to the current situation, the government of Serbia extended the validity of the decision on providing temporary protection in the Republic of Serbia to displaced persons from this country.
