Brnabic pointed out that investments in the development of education, biotechnology, artificial intelligence and its use in healthcare, energy and other areas will remain Serbia’s focus in the future period, and above all, encouraging young people to get education in these areas so that they can become the bearers of economy of innovation and knowledge.
Bearing in mind the decades-long contribution of the Nippon Foundation to the development of the University of Belgrade, Brnabic stressed that by working together we can take an even bigger step in encouraging education, science and research.
Sasakawa pointed out that he is extremely satisfied with the cooperation with institutions of higher education in Serbia to date and expressed his readiness to expand cooperation in other areas as well.
He highlighted the importance of encouraging the cooperation of the private sector, assessing that more and more companies from Japan are interested in expanding their business on the Serbian market.
The Prime Minister said that she is proud of the fact that some of the most reputable Japanese companies have recognised the comparative advantages of doing business in Serbia and underlined that companies and investors from that country are welcome.
The Prime Minister expressed her gratitude to the chairman of this foundation, who also holds the title of honorary doctor of the University of Belgrade, for his exceptional contribution and long-term support, which he provides through scholarships for young leaders to the best doctoral students of the University of Belgrade in the field of social sciences and humanities, as well as for the encouragement of academic and cultural cooperation between Serbia and Japan.
