Brnabic stated that, in addition to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Administration for the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region, systemic support is also provided through the work of the Minister without portfolio in charge of diaspora issues, as well as through the work of the non-governmental organisation "Point of Return".
Through the dialogue that these institutions provide with the diaspora, many challenges have been solved, but also concrete support for the promotion of Serbia abroad and the return of Serbs to their homeland has been made possible.
The Prime Minister said that newspapers have also been introduced and cited as an example the program of the Fund for Science, which connects scientists from the homeland and diaspora, as well as incentives for employing returnees, which are up to 70% exempt from taxes if they employ a returnee in scientific institutes.
Also new are favourable housing loans for returnees approved by the Savings Bank, easier nostrification of diplomas, the establishment of Serbian cultural centers in London and Beijing, as well as the Carta Serbica programme intended for our people from the diaspora who want to live, work or retire in Serbia. she pointed out.
Part of the conversation was about the diaspora's interest in participating in the upcoming elections on 17 December, as well as their opportunities to vote from abroad.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the response of the diaspora to vote in the past two years is the highest compared to the previous years and is approximately 40,000.
