Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica said today in talks with World Bank's Country Director and Regional Coordinator for Southeast Europe and Central Asia Orsalia Kalantzopoulos that the government has given great attention to creating a favourable economic climate in the country, noting that a number of economy-related laws have been adopted.
In the meeting, also attended by Serbian Minister of Economy Predrag Bubalo, Kostunica said that a number of the laws adopted for the first time clearly regulate the field of business which will significantly contribute to increased foreign investment.
Kalantzopoulos said that major progress has been made in Serbia in implementation of structural reforms, and added that the business climate in the country has been improved significantly.
She particularly emphasised that the World Bank has excellent cooperation with the Serbian government, and recalled that the World Bank Country Assistance Strategy (CAS) for Serbia-Montenegro envisages further financial support by the World Bank for reforms in the country.
