Prime Minister Ana Brnabic met today with President of the Veneto region in Italy Luca Zaia, who is attending this year’s International Wine Fair “Wine Vision by Open Balkans” together with companies from Italy.
The two officials discussed the continuation of economic cooperation, investments and the results of the cooperation of our country with this region to date.
The Prime Minister assessed that Serbia and Italy are strategic partners, which is best evidenced by the constant progress in the field of economic cooperation, adding that she expects an increase in the number of Italian companies in Serbia, primarily from Veneto, one of Italy's strongest regions in terms of the economy.
Brnabic underlined the importance of cooperation and exchange of experiences in the development of artificial intelligence, given that Italy is one of the leading countries in Europe in this field, whose experts have made a significant contribution to the development of this sector in our country as well.
She stated that Serbia invests great efforts in the development of not only artificial intelligence, but also innovative technologies, biotechnology and the construction of BioCampus, which will be one of the largest scientific research centres in Europe.
These would also be the areas in which Serbia wants to cooperate with Italian experts, the Prime Minister said.
Zaia expressed his gratitude for the support that Serbia provides to Italian companies, some of which have been operating on the Serbian market for more than two decades, and praised the Serbian government for creating a good business climate and for the efforts it invests in the economic development of the country.
Brnabic thanked for the support of the Italian partners, with whom Serbia has a long tradition of good and friendly relations, and wished success to the Italian producers exhibiting at this year's International Wine Fair in Serbia.
