Vojislav Kostunica
In a statement to Podgorica's daily "Dan", Kostunica said that he personally believes that results of the referendum will not mark the end of the state union, but that Serbia will accept any decision that citizens of Montenegro reach.
The Prime Minister stressed that so far Belgrade has shown constructive and European-like attitude to the issue in question. "On the issue of the state union, Serbia's position is the same as Brussels's – we believe that integrations are far more desirable than disintegrations," Kostunica pointed out.
He admitted that so far the state union has not functioned quite smoothly, but was optimistic about its future existence and functioning.
"I believe that the failure of the referendum in Montenegro will only bring about more functional and effective state union," concluded Kostunica.
