"The issue of European integration is of the greatest importance for our country because after a long period of great tribulation we have suffered, opening of the European perspective means turning a new, very important page, for our country.
"That is why the Serbian government does everything it can to fully meet international obligations towards the ICTY and thus remove remaining obstacles. The government wants to be the European Union's trustworthy partner and to meet all its obligations the best it can.
"There is no doubt that it is in the interest of the Serbian government first of all to fulfill all its international obligations, and we would be the happiest if that was already done. We want to assure our European partners that we are utterly resolved to lead our country into the EU, which also means that we are fully resolved to meet all our international obligations.
"A partnership relationship entails mutual trust and that is why I want to stress on this occasion that trust can yield much better results than any other approach.
"I am also convinced that European spirit and the spirit of the European integration that started living in our country should be supported and cherished in every way because that is the only secure road of the progress of our country and our citizens, and the only way that contributes to successful completion of all our obligations," concluded the written statement of the Serbian Prime Minister.
