Kostunica said at the meeting that Serbia is ready to secure essential autonomy for Kosovo-Metohija, and added that in the process of seeking a solution for Kosovo-Metohija it is especially important to safeguard stability in the region.
He said that it is absolutely essential that standards in Kosovo-Metohija be fulfilled, and that there has been no breakthrough in that process, which was also the conclusion reached in the report by Kai Eide.
He stressed that it is also necessary to implement decentralisation and create conditions for the return of the persecuted Serb population and added that the Serbian delegation is ready for the upcoming talks in Vienna on the decentralization issue.
Terzi said that in the process of looking for a solution for Kosovo-Metohija Belgrade and Pristina must come to agreement through compromise, and stressed that it is good that talks on decentralisation are to begin soon in Vienna.
Terzi said that the issue of decentralisation is very important, as well as the fulfillment of standards, respect of human rights, creating conditions for the return of the banished population and safeguarding orthodox churches.
