Cooperation with Azerbaijan in field of demography

Minister of Family Welfare and Demography Darija Kisic signed today with Azerbaijani Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population Sahil Babayev a Memorandum of understanding between the two ministries.

Kisic pointed out that the aim of this memorandum, among other things, is a joint work on the development of mechanisms and a policy aimed at securing demographic resilience, following demographic situation and making predictions for population development, realisation of activities in the field of promoting active and healthy ageing, exchange of knowledge and best practice.

Kisic underlined that this document is the continuation of the excellent cooperation to date with Minister Babayev and another confirmation of friendship of the two countries and she expressed her belief that the two ministries will have an efficient cooperation in the field of demography in the coming period.

The interlocutors announced that one of the first joint activities should be preparation for holding an international forum on the topic of family and demography, which would be organised by Serbia, Azerbaijan and Hungary.

Babayev said that the Memorandum of understanding between the two ministries confirms the successful cooperation to date and assessed that the working groups will make a joint plan of activities very soon.
