Minister of Information and Telecommunications Mihailo Jovanovic said today that according to the UN index, our country is one of the ten fastest growing countries in the world when it comes to the development of e-administration.
At the Kopaonik Business Forum, within the panel "Business environment and digitalisation of public services: achievements and challenges", Jovanović specified that 1,700,000 accounts are currently registered on the eGovernment portal, as well as that citizens are increasingly opening their electronic accounts and becoming eCitizens.
According to him, more than 33,000 eCitizens were registered last week alone.
For the first time in ten years, the government adopted the Bill on Electronic Communications and sent it to the National Assembly.
He stated that the novelty of this document is that for the first time Serbia is introducing electronic bills that will be sent by telecommunications companies, but also that citizens who want to receive paper bills will be able to request their issuance from their operators.
