The government of the Republic of Serbia announced today that the latest data from the Central Information System in the field of hospitality and tourism – eTourist, show that a total of one million overnight stays by domestic and foreign tourists were achieved in Serbia in February, which is an increase of approx. 45 percent compared to the same month last year.

Continued growth of tourist traffic in 2023

The number of overnight stays by foreign tourists in February amounted to 481 thousand, which is an increase of even 80 percent compared to the same month last year.
The speed of growth of tourist traffic of foreign guests compared to the beginning of last year, resulted in an increase in the share of overnight stays by foreign guests in the total overnight stays, from 37 percent to 45 percent.
Tourist destinations in Serbia with the highest number of overnight stays by tourists in February 2023 are Belgrade, Zlatibor, Kopaonik, Novi Sad and Divcibare.
The results at the beginning of the year inspire hope that the continued growth of tourist traffic in 2023 will be driven by an increase in the number of foreign guests, which will contribute to the further growth of foreign exchange inflows, since last year a record earnings in tourism of €2.5 billion was achieved.
