Minister of the Interior Bratislav Gasic and Minister of the Interior of the Republic of North Macedonia Oliver Spasovski signed today in Belgrade the Protocol on the manner of performing border checks at the joint border crossing "Lojane-Miratovac".

Gasic and Spasovski pointed out that the Serbian and Macedonian border services traditionally cooperate well and that the signed protocol will contribute to a more detailed regulation of the way border checks are carried out at this common border crossing, and will make the cooperation stronger and more efficient.
He pointed out that Serbia and North Macedonia are on the same path of preventing irregular migrations and emphasised that the key to solving this problem is solid cooperation and joint work, which is in the interest of the citizens of both countries.
Spasovski highlighted the friendly relations and partnership between the two countries and pointed out that these relations are accompanied by intensive cooperation between the two interior ministries.
He expressed great gratitude to the Serbian Ministry of the Interior for its contribution by sending police officers participating in the joint operation of enhanced surveillance of the southern border.
