Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica met today with Alexander Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee and Director General of Gazexport who said that Gazprom is wholly prepared to increase gas supply and reestablish the continuity and consistence of gas delivery to Serbia.

At a meeting with Kostunica and Serbian Ministers of Energy and Mining and Capital Investment, Radomir Naumov and Velimir Ilic respectively, Medvedev stressed that good cooperation with Serbia is of huge importance for Gazprom.
He said Gazprom is interested in investing in Serbia's gas infrastructure as well as establishing long-term and strategic cooperation with Serbia in the energy sector.
Kostunica pointed out that a regular supply of energy sources is of vital importance for Serbia and agreed that it is high time Serbia and Russia entered a new stage and started long-term cooperation in the energy sector.
They also agreed to intensify direct talks between Serbian and Russian resource ministries and Gazprom and Srbijagas gas companies to help establish cooperation between the countries and realisation of joint projects and investments.
It was agreed by both parties that Serbia and Russia have satisfactory and friendly relations and that both are ready to continue the cooperation in all sectors and especially in the energy sector.
