Condemnation of attempts to rehabilitate fascist criminal Xhafer Ibrahim Deva

The Ministry of Culture stated that, in connection with the announcement that Pristina persists in its intention to declare the house of the notorious Nazi criminal from the Second World War Xhafer Ibrahim Deva in Kosovska Mitrovica a centre of culture, it strongly condemns such projects of falsification of history and promotion of crime and violence.

The projects of revisionism and glorification of fascism, which, at the warning of the Ministry of Culture, were clearly condemned by the international community and especially the European Union, represent the true picture of Pristina's determination to further undermine the possibility of coexistence in Kosovo and Metohija.

At the same time, this is another of the activities by which Pristina brutally abuses the name of culture for aggressive and reckless projects that have nothing to do with culture.

It is not only an attempt to rehabilitate a fascist criminal, but at the same time it is a clear proof of what Pristina is trying to build its quasi-statehood on.

The Ministry of Culture notes that this is a notorious Nazi collaborator, who was active in the formation of the SS division "Skender Beg", known for the preparation and execution of crimes against the Serbian and Jewish population, the mayor of Mitrovica during the Second World War and the Minister of Internal Affairs of Albania for the time of occupation during the Second World War, whom Adolf Hitler decorated in 1944.
