Vojislav Kostunica
The Serbian government's official website gives the Prime Minister's greeting in full.
"During these joyful days and in the year ahead, our thoughts and best wishes are turned primarily towards the Serbian people in Kosovo-Metohija. Despite all perils, the demolition of churches, holy objects and houses, our people in the southern province has been fighting for its right to life, freedom and return to their homes with persistence, patience and dignity. I strongly believe that we will find the right solution for Kosovo-Metohija within the state union of Serbia-Montenegro only with joint forces, consistent support of generally accepted international principles, and through dialogue. I believe that the only real and sustainable solution for the future of the province is one founded on international law, justice and the generally acknowledged principles which are the basis of peace and stability in the world.
"Our country is now surely on the road to European integration. European future is based on strong values built during the long European cultural tradition, whose one part are also Serbia's most beautiful achievements, its monasteries and churches such as Hilandar, Studenica, Gracanica, Decani, the Pec Patriarchate. I am thoroughly convinced that we can build the future of our country only on true values and virtues.
"Important and joyful Christmas holidays bring a message of peace and hope into homes of all people of good will. I wish you all a Merry Christmas, and that you spend these festive days in love, happiness, mutual respect and true prosperity."
